Some Highlights

Medieval Day

This is a culminating event that took place after we studied a unit on the Middle Ages.  It lasted the entire day.

This unit went across the curriculum. The class book was titled Castle in the Attic.  Our vocabulary words became a weekly challenge in which students tried to reach goals that moved them from being a mere page to a squire and ultimately to a knight.

Here is a slideshow to showcase some of my favorite pictures.

Frog Dissection

Life science was a focus in these pictures.   The culminating event was the completion of a frong dissection.

Live-Wax Museum

6th graders choose a famous historical figure on which to do research.  Once the research was completed and checked, the student created a 2 to 3 minute script about the history of their person. The student then created a background, dressed up in time period clothing and presented the information.
_The Live-Wax Museum has one catch though- students must pretend to be a wax statue.  They may only be animated once a pre-made "button" is pushed by other students.
